OPA! And The First Give-Away! OOOH...AAH!

Sophie and Kate eating gyros
OK, I've been feeling a little bit guilty since "Marinade, Marinate, Macerate, Oh, Behave!" I told you that all I do to make really great Mediterranean grilled chicken is use olive oil, lemon, garlic and herbs. Well, that was sort of true. But what really makes the chicken incredible is the Greek Seasoning I use. The reason I didn't put that in my recipe wasn't because I was holding back, but because the only place you can get this seasoning is at "Papa  Cristos" in downtown Los Angeles. I hardly want to  drive there, so I couldn't expect you to make the trip!
Grilled meat...use the Greek seasoning!
This weekend we went to the Greek Festival at the Santa Anita Race Track. We go every year. No, no one is Greek, but we like to pretend we are...at least for a day. I think I will probably have a Greek son-in-law, since Sophie (Greek name) is convinced that she should be "Greek"!
Greek dancers

"Cynthia" is Greek for "Goddess of the Moon" so when I was in Greece, that was the only time my name was ever pronounced correctly!
Any way, I thought I'd send a follower, a collection of the Papa Cristo's seasonings, a dressing and  a marinade. (I don't have them yet, so no photo)
Almonds in honey...delicious...and how easy would that be to make?
You can only find these spices at Papa Cristo's, although they have a web page so you can order online. http://shop.papacristos.com The first one is just plain "Greek Seasoning", but it's magic on meat! Believe me, I've tried to figure out what's in it...I can't! The second is their "Greek Red Rub" which is a little bit spicier. I put the Greek Seasoning on pretty much anything Mediterranean, even in salad dressing. You will get the Greek Salad dressing that they use in their restaurant...but wait there's more! You'll also get their Lado-Lemono marinade! Hang on to your Greek fisherman's cap...a $24.00 value!
French fries with feta, Greek seasoning, lemon juice and olive oil. Yum!
All you have to do to be eligible for this drawing is leave a COMMENT on this post. I will choose a name at random...This will probably involve my dog, Annabelle and her paws, to be completely fair. Hmmm...deadline? How about Monday, September 26th?
Tempting, yet somehow, no.
Your odds are good! Really good, since I only have 65 followers and 116 twitter followers. The only unknown is all of my email followers, some of whom comment in person, but never on the BLOG!(I don't know who the rest of you are!)  And NO, mom, you are NOT eligible!

  3. I am always looking for another way to flavor chicken. If it easy I will make it during the week- and I always need some ideas. If three out of five like the dish I put it on the menu calendar. Maybe this could turn into a date with my husband. Drive to LA sans kids and have an outing! He loves to eat good food!
